Label Review.

2017 album.

Our Overview.

Portuguese DJ, record producer and Grammy award winning artist RAC (pronounced Ar-Ay-Cee)—known as André Allen Anjos, is primarily known for his remixes (200+). It started with an ambitious goal to change the way things were remixed. Taking the focus away from danceability and attempting different and interesting arrangements. Some notable examples include: Lady Ga Ga, Bob Marley, Ella Fitzgerald, Kings Of Leon, Katy Perry, The Shins, Bloc Party, Chromeo, Lana Del Rey, Two Door Cinema Club and many many more.

Now he releases his highly anticipated new album EGO via Counter Records. The record follows the release of Anjos’ 2014 album Strangers, which SPIN called, “…an impossibly smooth listen.” With this release, Anjos is re-directing RAC to songwriting which accounts for the record’s intimate but full-lunged tone, as heard on the records’ second single “I Still Wanna Know,” featuring vocals and a guitar solo from Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo as well as additional production by Classixx.

Anjos recently released the first single, “This Song (Featuring Vampire Weekend’s Rostam)” off his new album, which reached No.1 on the HypeMachine Popular Chart, received radio play from Jason Bentley at KCRW, Huw Stephens at BBC Radio 1 and Triple J and premiered on Billboard, who proclaimed, “The beat is punchy and the vibe is like falling in love.”

Recorded between Anjos’ home studio in Portland and sessions in Los Angeles, EGO features collaborations with Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo, Vampire Weekend’s Rostam, MNDR, St. Lucia, KNA, Joywave among others. EGO is Anjos’ most ambitious, cohesive and personal work to date and chronicles his organic progression as an artist. “The word ‘ego’ can have a negative connotation, but I think of it as an exploration of self,” he explains. “The album is really me figuring out what I personally wanted; I felt free to do whatever.”

RAC will be playing a handful of European dates alongside his huge US tour. European shows include KOKO (London), Wanderlust (Paris) and Ushuaia (Ibiza).
